Woman Arrested After Stealing Wyoming Deputy’s Patrol Vehicle and Escaping on Foot

On Wednesday afternoon, Laramie County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, which led to a high-speed chase and the eventual arrest of two women involved in the crime.

Around 5:13 p.m., the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) was alerted to a white Ford F-250 truck being stolen from the 800 block of South Greeley Highway in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Witnesses identified the thief as Mandy Miller, who had bypassed a safety feature on the truck, allowing her to steal the vehicle.

The Chase and Subsequent Arrest

Deputies quickly tracked the vehicle’s location using an internal tracking device installed in the truck, leading them to the Horse Creek Road area off Interstate 25. There, they made contact with the driver, later identified as Tianna Quin, who had taken control of the vehicle from Miller.

Quin led deputies on a chase toward the Scenic Ridge Drive area, where the stolen F-250 eventually blew a rear tire and came to a stop. Quin then exited the vehicle and fled on foot toward a nearby home.

Deputies were concerned that Quin might enter the home and commit further crimes. They acted swiftly to prevent her from reaching the property, ensuring the situation did not escalate.

Charges and Arrest

Both women were arrested in connection with the incident. Miller is believed to have initially stolen the truck, while Quin is facing charges related to the vehicle theft, evading law enforcement, and fleeing the scene on foot.

This unusual case has raised concerns about the security features in patrol vehicles, especially in instances where criminals bypass these systems.

Conclusion

The stolen patrol vehicle, once tracked by deputies, led to a swift response and eventual capture of both suspects. The incident underscores the importance of vehicle security and law enforcement’s quick action in preventing further crimes. As investigations continue, both women will face charges related to their involvement in the theft and the ensuing chase.

This case also highlights the challenges that law enforcement agencies face in maintaining control over their vehicles and ensuring they are not vulnerable to theft.
